Alcohol is believed to be a factor in a crash early Sunday morning that left a rural Ripon man with serious injuries.

Ricky W. Zwolski, 47, had to be extricated from his vehicle after he allegedly crashed it along the 600 block of East Jackson Street.

Police first became aware of problems when a call came in Sunday at approximately 1:26 a.m. about a possible hit-and run-accident on Stanton Street near East Jackson.

Upon officers arriving in the area and investigating the initial call, they received additional calls of another one-vehicle accident in the 600 block of East Jackson Street.

Officers located the operator of the vehicle, Zwolski, trapped inside of the vehicle with serious injuries.

The Ripon Area Fire District along with Ripon Guardian Ambulance arrived on scene and extricated Zwolski from the vehicle.
