Business at El Fogon Mexican Grill has been brisk since it moved to Ripon in February 2017.

   If anything, maybe a little too brisk.

   “Since we opened, a lot of people [have said] as they walk out, ‘You need a bigger place,’” said Erica Sesma, who owns the business with husband Marco. “You need to expand.”

   Soon that won’t be a problem.

   This winter, the business will move into one of Ripon’s best known restaurant spaces, one that’s been vacant for a couple years now: the former Alibi’s restaurant on Ripon’s far west side.

   When the business relocates sometime after the first of the year, it will do so with a new name and an updated menu that will include not just many of the Mexican favorites found at El Fogon but many American dishes as well.

   Erica and Marco Sesma have been considering such a change for the past year.
