The Ripon High School boys' basketball team will make their first state tournament appearance since 2003 Thursday, when they face Xavier at 3:15 p.m. at the Kohl Center in Madison.

The Ripon Area School District announced this morning that it will have a three-hour early release Thursday due to the high number of students and staff that will be heading to Madison to cheer on the Tigers. There will be no afternoon 4PS and all afterschool activites will be cancelled. Students will be served lunch prior to their release.

Schools will releases at the following times:

Barlow Park/Journey — 12:13 p.m.

Murray Park/Quest — 12:10 p.m.

RMS/Catalyst — 12:07 p.m.

RHS/Lumen — 12:07 p.m.

The school district also released the following information.

Ticket Sales - Tickets for the game in Madison on Thursday may be purchased at Ripon High School. Student section tickets will go on sale on Monday morning. Ticket cost is $10.  All other tickets will go on sale Monday at NOON. Ticket cost is $10. Please buy tickets from the school and not online to ensure you are seated with the Ripon fan base as seating is not general admission.

T-Shirt Sales - Tracy Landerman and her Activo students are selling State Bound t-shirts for Thursday's basketball game. The cost of the shirts is $10. T-shirts can be purchased beginning Monday morning for students and staff. All other t-shirts can be purchased on Monday at NOON at Ripon High School. See attached t-shirt design.

School Store - The RHS School Store will have extended hours this week. The store will be open from 8:00 a.m. - 4:00 p.m, Monday - Wednesday, for anyone interested in purchasing Tiger gear.

High School Fan Buses - High School students may ride the fan bus to the game. There is no charge for the fan bus to the State game. This option is available to high school students only. The bus will leave the High School parking lot at 12:30 p.m. on Thursday. Students interested in riding the fan bus to Madison must sign up by 3:00 pm Wednesday in the Ripon High School office.

Spectator Bus - There will be a spectator bus open to all other fans wishing to travel to the game. Fans may sign up for the spectator bus at the same time tickets are purchased. The spectator bus will begin loading at 12:00 p.m. in the west parking lot of RHS. The bus will leave at 12:30 p.m. Parking will be available in the HS/MS parking lots.  Elementary and middle school students traveling on the spectator bus must be accompanied by a parent or guardian.

Contact your child’s school if your family plans to ride the spectator bus as staff are prepared to release these students even earlier on Thursday to ensure everyone has adequate time to check in before the spectator bus leaves.  Spectators may bring food on the bus. The bus will not stop for food on the way to Madison or on the way back to Ripon.

Parade Route - At approximately 9:25 a.m. the team will leave the high school with a police and fire truck escort. Please refer to the attached Parade Route Map if you are interested in viewing the send off. The bus will leave the high school lot, travel to Murray Park Elementary, drive through the downtown, and past Barlow Park Elementary school before leaving the city limits to head to Madison.

Pending a WIN on Thursday:

·     Game Time - Boys would play again on Saturday, March 18 at 2:30 p.m. in the Kohl Center;

·     Tickets - No tickets will be sold in Ripon at the HS if the boys win. All tickets will be sold at the Kohl Center immediately after the game;

·     High School Fan Buses - High School students may ride the fan bus to the game. There is no charge for the fan bus to the game on Saturday. This option is available to high school students only.  The bus will begin loading on Saturday at 11:00 a.m. and leave for Madison at 11:30. Game time is 2:30 p.m. Students interested in riding the fan bus to Madison on Saturday must sign up before noon on Friday in the Ripon High School office.

·     Saturday Spectator Bus - Spectators can sign up for the Spectator Bus on Friday morning from 8:00 a.m. to 12:00 noon in the Ripon High School office. The bus will begin loading on Saturday at 11:00 a.m. and leave for Madison at 11:30. Game time is 2:30 p.m.; and

·     Welcome Back Rally (pending)- On Saturday, 7:00 p.m. (approximately) the police and fire trucks will meet the team at BP/J parking lot for police/fire escort through town. There would be a 7:30 p.m. Welcome Back Rally in the Ripon Middle School Gym to celebrate the team.
