An “extremely interested” party is still considering buying Heidel House.

Green Lake Mayor Jon McConnell told the Common Council Monday evening that a “very serious buyer” as he referred to the party last month continues to negotiate with Fiore Companies, the Madison-based developer that owns the 74-year-old resort slated to close Monday, May 20.

“The potential buyer for Heidel House I’ve been speaking with — the discussions are still progressing,” he said.

Ald. George King asked McConnell, who met with the interested party the weekend of April 6 and 7, whether he could characterize the potential buyer.

“That’s all I’m going to say,” McConnell responded.

“I think in the past you said he was extremely interested,” King said. “Something like that.”

“That’s what I said in the past, yeah,” McConnell said.

“You stand by that?” King asked.

“It’s still progressing,” the mayor said.
