In a bid to draw more families and tourist, Green Lake may become the home to a “floating rubber city.”

   This is the idea Ald. Liane Walsh suggested to the ad hoc economic development committee Tuesday morning, noting kids enjoy floating inflatable playgrounds.

   During the meeting, Economic Development Coordinator Bob Gintoft passed out a list of ideas to attract visitors to Green Lake, such as horseback riding, splash pad, zip lines from trees to water and more.

   However, the one he favored the most was a water park.

   “But that’s not realistic for Green Lake,” Ald. George King said.
