Green Lake students, staff and families didn’t have to travel far April 26 to learn about different countries and their cultures.

They just needed to visit their local school and attend the Culture Sharing Day event, which began at 11 a.m., shortly after the Celeste King Poetry Contest assembly.

The cultural event included six booths sporting poster boards full of facts about a student’s chosen country or culture.

Students were required to bring bite-size samplings of food and drink for their chosen culture, which could serve up to 308 students.

They also had the option to include music, a slideshow, clothing or sports gear that illustrated a facet of the country’s culture.

The event offered information on Wisconsin, Brazil, India, Spain, China and Germany.
