Despite the wet, cold winter weather, individuals from all around came to Green Lake last Saturday for a rousing good time at the new winter festival, ThunderFest.

Though the weather may have put a damper on some events, resulting in cancellations such as the pond hockey tournament, people were determined to enjoy the outdoors. Festival attendees mingled around a bonfire on the ice, partied to Road Trip’s live performance, raced each other on the ice in skates, sled down large snow hills in Deacon Mills Park and went ice fishing. For some youngsters, it was their first time skating or ice fishing.
