Third time’s the charm.

Or so the Green Lake City Council hoped as it revisited the issue of whether to incorporate $47,000 into the city budget for the Green Lake-Brooklyn Fire Department’s equipment fund.

The first time: the council met Oct. 16 and discussed the preliminary budget, which did not incorporate the $47,000.

The second time: the city council approved the fire department’s budget including the $47,000 for the equipment fund at the city of Green Lake and town of Brooklyn’s joint meeting Oct. 24.

And the third time, at the Green Lake City Council’s meeting Monday night, the members decided to rescind the approval they gave at the joint meeting.

This decision enabled the council to consider once more whether to approve the fire department’s budget with the $47,000 set aside for the equipment fund.
