“You have to be better than everybody else in the state.”

That is how Green Lake School’s music and choir teacher Virginia Pollock described the intense competition for Wisconsin State Honors Music Project.

Though thousands auditioned, five Green Lake middle school students proved they have skills to perform for Wisconsin State Honors Music Project this weekend at the Performing Arts Center at Waunakee Community High School.

The five students participating in the Honors Project are Emma Moore (French horn), Erik Olmen (choir), Ian Sandberg (choir), Nolan Madrigrano (choir) and Garrett Clark (choir).

Kelsey Olmen and Riley Karau, also auditioned and were wait-listed for choir.
