Free flowers? Yes, please, said the Green Lake City Council.
The four of the city’s six aldermen present for the council meeting Monday unanimously approved a beautification plan from Stuart’s Landscaping for flower beds at two parks.
Steve Gehring, a landscape designer for the company’s Green Lake branch, was on hand to pitch the idea.
“[We’re] just trying to give back to the community by beautifying some of the parks,” he told the council.
One 17-by-21-foot display will be planted near the oversized Adirondack chair at Deacon Mills Park and the other on the “island” at Playground Park south of the dam, near the corner of Mill and Water streets.
