Fifteen years ago, Green Lake County Deputy Sheriff Bruce Williams was killed while responding to a domestic violence call.

In honor of his ultimate sacrifice, the Green Lake County Sheriff’s Office revealed last week Friday a memorial wall created in memory of Williams.

The wall consists of Williams’ badge number, 42; a framed picture with an inset photo of Williams; a display case holding his uniform badge, medals, the American flag and the flag of Wisconsin; and the words “Never Forget.”

As part of the memorial service, Williams’ family members signed the wall near the badge while officers, retired and current, signed the blue section of the wall.

Any time a new officer is trained, they will hear Williams’ story and sign the wall in honor of the life he laid down in service of his community.
