Even though the weather can’t seem to make up its mind what season is outside, inside Green Lake’s Town Square are signs of warmer days ahead.

And shoppers almost can taste them.

Opening Saturday, the indoor Spring Market will offer those hungering for spring fresh produce, pastries and even smoothies and spring rolls that can be consumed on the spot.

“We’ve had a little taste of spring now, so we’re all in the mood to keep that feeling going,” Green Lake Renewal CEO Fran Hill said. “The Spring Market is the perfect place to do just that.” ...

Because there aren’t a large number of storefronts in Green Lake, Hill said, the market can provide “shopportunities” for those who want a headstart on farmers’ market season — or simply a reason to visit town.

“People are always looking for an excuse to come to Green Lake,” she said.
