The Boys & Girls Club of the Tri-County Area is committed to coming to Ripon, assured CEO Jason Presto.

But when that will be or if the club will share a location with the Ripon Senior Activities Center remains unclear.

Regarding any progress in finding a location in Ripon, Presto noted “in terms of additional information on timing or location, I just don’t have anything to share with you at this time.”

He added he couldn’t “corroborate at all” the Ripon Senior Activities Center’s proposal to find a new location and share it with the Boys & Girls Club.

The Senior Activities Center is currently looking for a new home outside of City Hall and suggested to the Ripon Park and Recreation Committee the center could use the $500,000 from the estate of Lloyd Mitchell to purchase or build a new location. The building could then be used by the center and club, with the club paying rent.

However, Mary Lyke, vice president of the club’s board of directors, explained nothing is concrete at the moment, as far as possible locations or a timeline.
