   Would taking up two parking spaces in front of Knuth Brewing Co. for a street patio, otherwise known as a “parklet,” be:

   A: One way to make downtown come alive while helping a local business

   B: A potential problem from a legal perspective but one that can be worked out

   C: A hazard to drivers as well as to those seated on the patio area

   D: An unwise use of downtown parking providing an unfair advantage for one business.

   Ripon’s Plan Commission members never agreed on any one answer from among those possibilities last week Wednesday as they wrestled with this first-time request.

  But they agreed it was a concept worth exploring, unanimously agreeing to pass the multiple-choice problem onto Ripon’s Common Council next.

   That decision, however, took nearly an hour to reach as the Plan Commission debated the various problems, and benefits, the concept could create.
