The case of a former Ripon High School teacher who is charged with sexual assault of a high school student will resolve with a plea agreement.

Former Ripon teacher Samantha Fitzpatrick, 29, 397 Echo Springs Rd., Belington, W.V., was charged in December with four counts of child enticement (Class D felony), sexual assault of a student by school staff (Class H felony), exposing a child to harmful material (Class I felony) and obstructing an officer (Class A misdemeanor).

After a motion by Fitzpatrick’s attorney to suppress key evidence was denied in May, her case was scheduled to go to trial Tuesday, Sept. 18.

However, the defense and prosecuting parties in the case have met and have decided to resolve the issue with a plea agreement.

On Monday, the Fond du Lac County District Attorney’s office requested a plea hearing date to be scheduled for Fitzpatrick’s case because “last week the parties have reached a resolution in this matter,” the request stated.

According to online court records, that plea hearing will be held Tuesday, Nov. 6 at 9 a.m.
