Looking to cool down in the Ripon High School pool this summer, or hoping to teach a little one to do so safely?

That won't be an option this year.

Due to the ongoing pandemic, the high school will not open its pool to the public for the summer.

"We are not having lessons/open swim for the summer," Ripon High School Principal Randy Hatlen said. "At this time there are so many uncertainties, it would be hard to schedule anything ... COVID-19 has made scheduling anything uncertain."

A similar message was posted to the school district's Facebook page: "For the safety of our students, parents, and staff, swimming lessons and Open Swim are canceled for this summer due to COVID-19. We apologize for this inconvenience and appreciate your understanding and support. We look forward to being able to safely open again."
