UPDATE, 12:40 P.M.:

A missing Ripon teen has been found safe.

"She is currently is in possession of the FBI in the Tucson office in Tucson, Ariz.," Ripon Police Chief Bill Wallner said today at 12:30 p.m.

Apprehending Talin Ross, the 21-year-old man with whom she'd left last week, enabled law enforcement to track her down.

"As a result of him being in custody, we were able to do some follow up with the FBI field offices in Phoenix as well as Tucson as well as the FBI field office in Milwaukee," Wallner said. "As a result of that coordination, the FBI was able to observe her at a location where she had been for several days and were able to locate her [there]."

The Ripon Police Department received confirmation late this morning that she was in their custody.

"I don’t have any other information about her right now; the only information I have is that she is not injured in any way," Wallner said.

ORIGINAL STORY:

The search for a missing Ripon 15-year-old may have become more difficult.

The man with whom she left Ripon last week has been taken into custody, but she remains missing, and is believed to be somewhere in Arizona.

The Ripon Police Department issued an update Tuesday morning, noting that 21-year-old Talin Ross had been taken into custody, but that 15-year-old Cassandra Garza was not with him.

“Information received by the Ripon Police Department late Monday evening lead investigators to direct their search for Talin Ross and Cassandra Garza to the state of Arizona,” Ripon Police Capt. Troy Damsteegt said Tuesday. “After coordinating with the Phoenix Police Department Street Crimes Unit and the FBI, Talin Ross was taken into custody in the Phoenix area at approximately 6:00 am on November 5, 2019.”

Garza, however, remains missing, having been seen most recently in the Tucson, Ariz. area.

She may be using a fake Arizona driver’s license that identifies her as 18-year-old “Sage Salvador.”

“The Ripon Police Department is working with the National Center for Missing and Exploited Children to distribute information in the Tucson area,” Damsteegt said.
Garza is 5-feet, 5-inches tall and weighs 220 pounds with blond hair and blue eyes. She has a nose piercing and wears purple and blue-colored glasses.

Damsteegt added that if anyone has information regarding the location of Cassandra Garza, they should contact a local law enforcement agency or the city of Ripon Police Department at 748-2888.
