Ripon isn’t typically a haven for Hollywood types, but during this past week Mugs Coffeehouse was visited by two well-known faces.

First, actor Michael Rooker — known for his roles in “The Walking Dead” and “Guardians of the Galaxy” — stopped in last week Thursday. He and his wife, who once lived in Princeton, own the old Tiger Brewery building there, and Rooker occasionally grabs coffee at Mugs.

“He dropped this quote from ‘Guardians of the Galaxy’ [while ordering],” Mugs owner Matt Holley said. “‘Don’t you know who I am? I’m Mary Poppins!’ ... He was such a cool guy.”

Rooker also touted later on Instagram how he was checking out a truck in Princeton as well.

Then, on Sunday, comedian Charlie Berens, known for his “Manitowoc Minute” routine and more, visited Mugs after many shows Friday and Saturday in Green Lake.

“He is a super humble guy and was more than willing to take a few minutes for a couple pics with us,” Holley said.
