A medical helicopter transport was utilized today (Monday) after a pickup truck collided with a train in Brandon at around noon.

Few details are available about the incident, but at least one person was extricated from the Ford pickup. The pickup was pulling a large flatbed trailer.

Flight for Life then left the scene just after 12:30 p.m.

The incident occurred on Clark Street in Brandon. Due to the length of the northbound train, cars blocked Highway 49 to the south until about 12:30, diverting traffic onto County Road TC.

The railroad crossing at which the incident occurred had a crossing sign as well as a stop sign, but no lights or gate.

No further information about the incident was immediately available. For a full story, see the Dec. 6, 2018 edition of the Ripon Commonwealth Press.
