Come April, a new face may join the ranks of the Ripon School Board.

Three school board member positions are up for election — David Olson, David Scott and Gary Rodman; however, Olson declared he will not run.

Rodman announced he is seeking another term and Scott has remained quiet, not yet declaring his candidacy, as of press time.

When long-time board member Olson decided not to seek re-election, he opened the door for new candidates, such as Watson Street resident Margaret Betsy Heffernan, who turned in her candidacy paperwork last week Thursday.

Heffernan, a 1986 Ripon High School graduate, grew up in Ripon and moved away after college. She returned to her childhood town with her family eight and a half years ago.
