What factors may increase the chance someone becomes addicted to an opioid, such as heroin?

What signs should someone look for when suspecting the use of opioids?

What should you do if you suspect someone is using?

These are common questions a family member, a friend or an employer might ask when faced with the prospect that someone close to them is using.

But where can one get the answers they need?

A local group has taken steps to make such answers more readily available.

Drug Free Communities of Fond du Lac County, in conjunction with its Ripon opioid initiative group, released last week its first-ever “Opioid & Heroin Awareness Toolkit.”

The book contains 30 pages of resources, recommendations and stories of addiction aimed at individuals seeking help.
