Two students at Ripon High School are expected to be disciplined after posting an image online that associated a swastika with the Ripon Area School District.

The issue came to light Tuesday morning when Ripon High School Principal Randy Hatlen sent a note out to high school families.

According to that note, he became aware last week Wednesday “that two students had posted an image online that associated the swastika symbol with the Ripon Area School District administration and facilities. The students were voicing their disappointment that school had not yet been canceled that day.”

District administration became aware of it after a parent brought it to their attention.

“The parent was very concerned,” Hatlen said later.

An investigation followed this revelation, and parents of the students involved were contacted.
