Lindsay Burt got into candle-making years ago as something to do while home with her young son.

“I bought a kit off of eBay and sat there in my kitchen and tried to figure out how it worked,” she said. “And that just became kind of an addiction to anything that smells.”

Eighteen years later, she’s trying to share that “addiction” with shoppers in downtown Ripon.

Burt’s transformed what was previously a national wholesale business producing everything from bath balms to sea-salt scrubs into a storefront at 211 Watson St. under the name “Watson Works Bath Co.”

From that space, which she has been growing since opening in early spring, she is offering an array of her hand-crafted products, with plans to begin production on-site sometime down the road.

“After Back Porch Gatherings moved next door, I knew I wanted her space — so when she moved I’m like, ‘I’m going to do it,’” Burt said opening her Ripon storefront.

Burt personally makes everything sold at 211 Watson St.
