The idea seemed daunting for Emily Johnson at first.

   A second-semester nursing student at Moraine Park Technical College, she worried what it would be like to have her first clinical experience in a hospital.

   “It was intimidating. Just going from nursing home to this is a lot different,” she said.

   Then she walked into Ripon Medical Center (RMC), and those concerns began to melt away.

   “I think the [staff at RMC] is really nice,” she said. “... It’s definitely gotten easier. Our confidence is getting better, too.”

   Though one might think having nursing students waiting in the wings would be difficult, everyone involved seems to agree the collaboration between Moraine Park and RMC has offered benefits to all.
