   Kids waited with anticipation, lining up outside Webster’s Marketplace. When would he come?

   Then, the moment arrived.

   In flew Webbie, right off West Fond du Lac Street and into the Webster’s parking lot.

   Children cheered.

   Technically, Webbie — a 6-foot mallard duck — didn’t fly in, though the breeze did sweep through his feathers from atop the Ripon Area Fire District ladder truck.

   But to the children it made no difference. Webbie was here.

    Webbie, explained Candie Baker of Webster’s Marketplace, “is lovable and a fun new addition to our store. We created Webbie to help our store be more friendly and for Webbie be a welcoming face to kids and families at our events in store and our surrounding communities.”
