Picking up bowls, looking them over and showing them off to others, Ripon community members marveled at the creativity Ripon middle-schoolers and high-schoolers invested into their ceramic bowls.

Two tables were laden with the pottery for people to choose from at the Empty Bowls event held Feb. 15 and hosted by the art department and food class students. For $10, attendees could enjoy a bowl of steaming soup and then choose their favorite hand-crafted ceramic bowl to take home and put on display. The proceeds went toward the Ripon Food Pantry to help end hunger.
