Bulldozer. Fire Truck. Books that go open and shut. Children laughing. Parents clapping. Nobody napping.

Children’s entertainer and recording artist Tom Pease had parents clapping and children laughing as he sang songs, such as his grandson’s favorite about a bulldozer and fire truck, at the Ripon Public Library last week Saturday.

Pease encouraged a packed room to sing songs about books to inspire youngsters to continue to read.

Prior to his show, the library honored graduates of the 1,000 Books Before Kindergarten initiative. Graduates were Hayden Olm, Molly Mueller, Ophelia Hershoff, Augustine Kotloski, William Kotloski, Carter Moniz, Kellan Michels, Charlie Mumm and Sebastian Rivera.
