BRAVE is a strong after-school program that provides homework help and enrichment activities throughout the school year.

   The Boys & Girls Club believes it can provide those services and more, including summertime activities BRAVE cannot — but that it might take some time to reach those greater goals.

   These are the two options Ripon Area School District officials continue to weigh as they negotiate with the Boys & Girls Club of the Tri-County Area.

   Yet, last week, it appeared the negotiations might be hopelessly fractured.

   Nearly a dozen representatives filled a conference room at the district’s administrative offices last week Wednesday for a tense, 100-minute meeting.

   At times, tones were icy; at others, voices were raised.

   But the animosity softened in the waning moments of the meeting, renewing hopes some kind of common ground still may be found.
