The Ripon Area School District may add a new school to its 4-year-old preschool selection for the 2019-2020 school year: Grace Preschool.

Grace was one of two schools — Discovery Preschool being the other — that resisted joining the school district’s 4-year-old program years ago. As such, it’s remained entirely independent up until now.

But at Monday’s school district finance committee meeting, Grace announced its intention of joining with the school district going forward.

“We’re excited to have some sort of collaboration,” said Moniqua Worthing, treasurer for the Grace Preschool board of directors.

A representative of the Grace Preschool board later explained why the school is considering this collaboration now.

“This partnership with [the school district] will allow us to continue as well as expand to more families ...,” said Sue Mokler, board president, speaking on behalf of its board. “Grace Preschool was approached in early 2018 and discussions have continued to determine the best course of action for all parties involved. The Grace Preschool board believes this is a win-win decision for all and especially the families that will benefit from this partnership.”
