David Joyce

Two committees and an executive search firm have formally begun the search for Ripon College’s next president, with the goal of hiring a new chief executive by late winter/early spring.

The college hopes to welcome its new president to campus by July 1, 2012, the start of the college’s fiscal year.

Three groups will be involved with the search and selection process: A trustee selection committee, an integrated search committee and an executive search firm.

Jane Frederick ’74 chairs the trustee selection committee that will make the final recommendation to the board.

Frederick has been a member of the Ripon College board of trustees since 1990, and successfully chaired the search that brought David and Lynne Joyce to Ripon.

Other members of the selection committee include trustees Tom Abendroth ’81, Ron Peterson ’70, Dena Willmore ’67, Rich Srednicki ’73 and Board Chairman Bob Kirkland ’81.

The selection committee will receive its recommendations from an integrated search committee, also chaired by Frederick, comprising a spectrum of college constituents.

Both committees will, in turn, be assisted by an executive search firm (Storbeck Pimentel from Philadelphia, Pa.) that will develop an initial candidate pool. Search committee members are:

Kurt Dietrich — faculty member

Marty Farrell — faculty member

Jane Frederick ’74 — trustee and search chair

Helen Hansen ’66 — trustee

Marc Hoffman ’70 — trustee

Dante A. C. Houston ’01 — alumni board member

Paul Jeffries — faculty member

Bob Kirkland ’81 (ex officio) — trustee and board chair

Tyler Knowles ’13 — student

Jessie Lillis ’13 — student

Andy Lyke — president, Ripon Printers

Becky Matzke — faculty member

Lori Schulze — staff member

Wayne Webster — vice president for advancement

Bob Zimmerman ’70 — trustee

President Joyce announced his resignation in July.

His last day as president of Ripon College will be Tuesday, Nov. 15.

Starting Nov. 16, interim presidential duties will be transferred to Gerald Seaman, current vice president and dean of faculty.

Interim dean of faculty responsibilities will then shift to Professor Russell Blake.
