In their final hour before their holiday break, Barlow Park/Journey Elementary students were in a lively mood Friday, Dec. 21 as they filed into the school cafetorium for some holiday singing.

With many wearing holiday hats and even pajamas, the students sang and danced with teachers and aides to music and video provided by technology support assistant Matt Storz.

The highlight of the holiday party was the teachers’ rendition of “The 12 Days of Christmas,” with lyrics changed to sound suspiciously like the pleas of whining children who don’t now how to tie their shoes or are wondering how much more time must pass before they can go outside for recess.

That last question was answered soon after the event, when the school day ended and students took off for their long, holiday break.
