(An open letter to the Ripon Common Council) (Re: “City eyes new fees to fill gap in funding,” June 27, 2019) I understand the shortfall the city is facing with recycling.  

     However I noticed the proposed fee of $3.50 covers 100% of the recycling and not just the shortfall.  

     The city must have budgeted for the $2.65 and I think the city has had tax increase in the past to help offset that cost.  

     I think the city should continue to pay the first $2.65 ...

     It looks to me the City would have a nice little windfall of $74,412.
