With cooler temperatures last week Saturday, competitors took to the trails of Ripon for the Ripon Noon Kiwanis Doug Lyke 5k Twilight Run/Walk.

Forty-three people finished the race, which took place at Riggs County Park for the fourth-straight year after previously being a road race. The temperature around race time was in the mid-70s, which was much cooler than last year’s race that featured temperatures in the high 80s. Forty-five individuals finished last year.

Jacob Bohnert of Montgomery, Ill. was the top overall finisher with a time of 16 minutes, 53.41 seconds. He was followed by Ripon High School cross country runner James Stanfield, who finished in 17:52.04.

Lindsey Michels of Ripon was the top female finisher. She finished the race in 20:41.91.
