Ripon High School will send a trio of wrestlers to sectionals.

LeeRoy Cotton, Kaden Keenlance and Joe Kain all punched their tickets last week Saturday at the Little Chute Division 2 Regional. They now advance to wrestle Saturday in Wrightstown, Wis.

LeeRoy Cotton won the 113-pound weight class, while Keenlance and Kain finished second in the 126- and 182-pound weight brackets, respectively.

The Tigers also had three wrestlers — Lili Alderson (106), Ethan Zache (132) and Brady Kissinger (160) — just miss qualifying for sectionals with third-place finishes.

As a team, Ripon finished fifth out of five schools with 129 points.

Winneconne won the meet with 205 points and was followed by Berlin (190), Little Chute (188), Omro (131), Ripon (129), Xavier (97) and Fox Valley Lutheran (76).

“I would say we were as prepared as possible for the meet; everybody wrestled tough, nobody gave up,” Ripon head coach Lee Cotton said. “We definitely put the work in the season to get to this point and everybody did have a legitimate shot this year, but we’re not the only ones wrestling. There are other guys that want it just as bad.”
