Lexi Reetz’s senior season may not have gone how she wanted it to.

That didn’t prevent her from making a memorable Senior Day.

Reetz led the Ripon College softball team to a doubleheader sweep of the Beloit Buccaneers last week Saturday as she pitched a pair of complete-game shutouts.

She scattered just 12 hits in the 14 innings, while striking out 13 batters and walking just three.

The Red Hawks won the games, which were just their third and fourth Midwest Conference victories out of 14 attempts, 3-0, 6-0.

“Lexi pitched very well and I thought we played good defense behind her,” Ripon head coach Steve Wammer said. “We had timely hitting, which is something we need to do, so it was a fun day.”

Reetz, one of three seniors on the team, was one of those players who delivered timely hits as she drove in four runs in the games.

That included the first run in the first game, which was the only one until Ripon tacked on two more in the bottom of the sixth. Reetz drove in fellow senior Teara Morgenroth on a double in the third.

Reetz also led the team in the game two as she went 3 for 4 with two RBIs and two runs scored.
