The Ripon High School Tiger football team returned to the gridiron Tuesday for the start of practice, which was the earliest day allowed by the WIAA.

The team, which is led by first-year head coach Mark Bradley, will try to return to the playoffs for the third time in four years.

Ripon will receive a chance to see how it matches up against competition Friday, Aug. 16 when it travels to Omro for a four-team scrimmage at 4 p.m. In addition to host Omro, Wrightstown and Waupaca will attend the scrimmage.

The Tigers then will open their season Friday, Aug. 23 with a non-conference home game against Watertown Luther Prep.
