While the weather outside may not have felt like fall, practice got underway Monday for the final three Ripon High School fall sports: cross country, volleyball and boys’ soccer.

The soccer team, which will be under the direction of a new head coach following the resignation of Kyle Sackett, will have a little more than a week to get ready before opening its season Aug. 27 in Clintonville.

The volleyball team has a couple extra days to prepare before taking part in an invitational Thursday, Aug. 29 in Wisconsin Dells. Cross country, meanwhile, will host a Fun Run Thursday, Aug. 29 at Barlow Park and have its first meet of the season Thursday, Sept. 5 in Oshkosh.

Season previews for volleyball and boys’ soccer will run in next week’s Commonwealth, while cross country will follow a week later.
