With Mother Nature showing no signs of letting up, the Ripon High School track and field team took to the gymnasium to spring into action as it began practice this week.

After the school held its spring sports meeting Monday, the Tigers gathered for their first practice Tuesday as they did station drills in addition to receiving information from the coaches.

They have a little more than two weeks before their first meet, which is set for Tuesday, March 19 inside the fieldhouse of Ripon College’s Willmore Center. It will be one of three meets at Ripon College, with the other two coming Saturday, March 23 and Friday, April 5.

Their first outdoor meet is the Wautoma Relays, which is slated for Thursday, March 28.

Track and field was the first of the spring sports to begin practice. Softball will follow Monday, March 11, while baseball and girls’ soccer will get underway Monday, March 18. Golf and boys’ tennis will be the final two spring sports to start practicing, doing so Monday, March 25.
