Entering last week Saturday’s East Central Conference Meet with fewer wrestlers, the Ripon Tiger wrestling team was more focused on individual performances.

Ripon was pleased with the results.

The Tigers had six of their 11 wrestlers place in the top-three, which included two conference champions and two runners-up.

“That was awesome to have four guys in the finals, especially in a conference like we had this year,” Ripon head coach Lee Cotton said, referring to the competition.

The strong individual performances also led to a few bright spots in terms of the team standings as the Tigers placed fifth out of seven schools with 153 points.

Winneconne won the meet with 210 points and was followed by Berlin (189), Campbellsport (174), Plymouth (155.5), Ripon (153), Kewaskum (130) and Waupun (74).
