Ripon Tiger head girls’ basketball coach Jesse Nodolf summed up last week Friday’s road game against Kewaskum with one word.

   “Turnovers.”

The Tigers committed 27 miscues in a 58-49 loss to the Indians.

It comes after they won the first match-up of the season 55-47.

“Turnovers kill you, especially when we shoot 48 percent from the floor, which I think is our highest percentage of the season,” Jesse Nodolf said of what went wrong.

It wasn’t just the number of turnovers that cost Ripon (1-8 conference, 4-12 overall) the game, but the timing of them as well.

One of them came with around 10 seconds left in the first half and the Tigers leading 28-27.

Kewaskum (3-6 conference, 5-11 overall) capitalized on it by making a layup while getting fouled and completed the three-point play to take a lead into the locker room.

The play capped off a back-and-forth first half.
