     Remember Riponfest?         

     For a quarter century, it marked the high point of the summer for many current (and former) Riponites.

     And, if it still existed today, this coming weekend — the second full weekend of July — Riponfest would have celebrated its 35th birthday.

     But it never got past 25.

     In 2008, Ripon’s colossal summer marked a quarter century of festivities with a big cake, and then melted away like an ethereal summer dream.

     For years, locals lamented, “Can’t someone bring back Riponfest?”

     Ten years later, that’s still a good question.

     Could Riponfest ever be resurrected? Should it come back? ...
