TO THE EDITOR:

    The Ripon Opioid Initiative would like to express their sincere appreciation to Ripon High School for hosting the Wake Up Call event presented by Your Choice to Live, Inc., a drug and alcohol awareness program on April 25, 2018.

    It was inspiring to see approximately 200 community members (including individuals from 15 different zip codes outside of Ripon) in attendance to gain knowledge of warning signs of drug and alcohol use in youth, as well as learn about more than 25 different resources for assistance.
This program was initiated by Students Taking Action Against Negative Decisions (STAAND) the Ripon high school youth component of Drug Free Communities of Fond du Lac County (DFC).

    The students chose two specific projects this year one to address opioids and the other to address issues surrounding alcohol. This was their choice for opioids. ...
