TO THE EDITOR:

     (Re: “Factory next to ‘Peace’ made tasty, scary, funny memories,” Sept. 26, 2019) Enjoyed the article on the pickle factory, certainly never expected to see one of my home runs in print 59 years after the fact.

     Joel [Schultz] did a fine job telling it and I guess his older brother, John, and I may have embellished the ball retrieval a bit.

    I remember well seeing that ball go through the plastic covered window and yes it was a perfect round hole.

     Father Wagner wasn’t to hard on us and we didn’t have to pay for replacement covering. He indicated that they had sufficient material for the job.  

     Boston had the Green Monster left field wall, ours was The Great White! ...
