I am writing this open letter to the citizens of Assembly District 41 on the day prior to the election.

I don’t know how the district will vote, but in the early hours of Wednesday morning (today), either I will be your new representative, or you will have voted to retain Joan Ballweg.

Without regard to which way the vote goes, there are a few observations I’d like to make about this campaign.

Both Ms. Ballweg and I chose to run our race focused on the issues and building up the energy and enthusiasm of our respective supporters, rather than to focus on negatives and tearing down the “other.”

I am proud that the respective political parties and the citizens of the district have chosen to behave with mutual respect, rather than join with the rancor we hear so much on television.

I am humbled by the great support so many have contributed to my campaign. ...
