     WHAT DOES THE DAY after Thanksgiving mean to you? ...

     For some, its the traditional start to the Christmas season: the day you pick out the perfect Christmas tree.

     Though I didn’t necessarily do it on “Black Friday,” cutting down a real Christmas tree was always one of my favorite childhood memories. Perhaps it’s yours, too.

     But this year, that experience will be a bit different.

     Fraser Farm, located a little northwest of Ripon on 37th Avenue — where Riponites have gone for years to  find that perfect tree — sold this year.
But that doesn’t mean cut-your-own trees are gone from the Ripon area. In fact, though the property was divided into two when Dennis and Mary Fredrickson Meyer sold it, the “new” owner of the tree farm is a face that will be quite familiar to long-time customers. ...
