     TONY GONZALES DOESN’T want this story to be about him.

     The Ripon man doesn’t want to be pointed out as a hero.

     All he did, Tony says, is what anyone should do: when they see someone in distress — stop and help.

     “It was a good deed. It was something that just happened,” he said. “... I don’t want this glorified. If this just touches one person and they say, ‘Hey, I ran into a situation like that, and yeah, I could have stopped,’ maybe they’ll stop next time.”

     That’s exactly what Tony did last week Tuesday morning while on his way to Fond du Lac.

     But ... Tony doesn’t want me to make him seem like a hero.

     So, I’ll let him tell the story, in his words, and you can judge for yourself ...
