To the editor:

   With the Wisconsin Supreme Court’s decision on Tuesday 12 May 2020 to repeal Wisconsin’s Safer-At-Home Order (Executive Order #28), it is upon all of us to ensure the health and safety of our own community.

   While our neighboring counties to the north have enacted measures to help prevent the spread of the COVID-19 infections, Fond du Lac County has chosen not to enact any of these measures.

   Therefore, the responsibility will lie entirely on us as individuals and business owners.

   On Monday 11 May 2020, the State of Wisconsin Department of Health Services released guidelines for reopening businesses in a responsible manner.

   These included allowing all retail businesses to open with a limit of five customers at one time. These guidelines did not layout reopening timing or procedures for restaurants or bars.

   Currently, there are not legal requirements for Ripon to adhere to the reopening guidelines ...
